Melvin A. Rittel, 80, of Annville died Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Myerstown on Jan. 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Ammon L. Rittel and the late Emma C. Rudy Rittel. He was a Production Worker for the Hershey Foods Corporation. Melvin was a member of St. Jacobs Kimmerlings Church, Lebanon, and a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are three sons, Michael M. Rittel, husband of Ruth A., of Annville, Jamie H. Rittel, husband of Danielle R., of Annville, Joey A. Rittel, husband of Kristen, of Lebanon, a brother, Guy Rittel, husband of Diane, of Myerstown, four grandchildren, Alexa, Natasha, Caleb, and Kylie. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan A. Rittel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St. Annville, PA 17003. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Grand View Memorial Park. A public viewing will be held on Friday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
