Melvin D. Hershey III, 74, of Lebanon, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Karen L. (Majewski) Hershey.
Melvin was born in Lebanon, a son of the late Melvin D. Hershey Jr. and Lilly June (Fake) Hershey.
He was known by many as the “Fish Man.” He was the treasurer of The Lebanon Valley Wine Club. Melvin was known for being a people person. He was a foodie, a winemaker, and an avid skier. Melvin enjoyed cats and dogs, traveling the world, spending time with nature, camping, e-biking, wild mushroom hunting, gardening, and working with plants.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Samuel O. Hershey and Joseph W. Hershey, and wife, Melissa; step-grandson, Jonathon Miller; and siblings, William Hershey, and companion, Linda Breidegam, Charles Hershey, and wife, Ginger, Mary Hershey, and Sally Green. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Honoring the request of Melvin, there will be no services.
