Melvin Leroy Bunnell, 82, of Lebanon, died on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Marilyn A. Murden and the late Glynda F. McHenry Bunnell.
Born in Ft. Worth, TX on Jan. 1, 1939, he was the son of the late Clyde H. and Neta Butler Bunnell.
Melvin graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1963, and he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Captain. He was a member and past exalted ruler of BPO Elks and its Grand Lodge. He retired as a research engineer from Epoch Engineering.
Surviving are daughters, Eileen, wife of David Valadez, of Urbana, VA, Susan, wife of William Mercer, of Hampstead, NC, and Alison, wife of C.J. Johnson, of Bolivia, and six grandchildren.
There will be no services, with interment including military honors to be scheduled at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
