Michael A. “Mike” Shay, 71, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at Linden Village. He was the husband of Bonnie S. (Ziegler) Shay, with whom he recently celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Mike was born in Lebanon on Sept. 11, 1953, to the late Alfred and Rita (Schreiber) Shay.
He was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. He worked at Hauck Manufacturing in field services and sales. His last position was president of Hauck. Mike was a member of the former Midway Church of the Brethren for many years, where he held various servant leadership positions and taught Sunday School. More recently, Mike attended Calvary Chapel in Lebanon. He was also a member of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce and was on the board of the Lebanon County Christian Ministries. He was an avid Boy Scout leader, golfer, hunter, and a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family members and cousins.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Daniel Shay (Julia), of Wilmington, DE, and Erin Koch (Dan), of Lebanon; grandchildren, Lydia and Bennett Shay; and brother, Patrick Shay, of Juniata County, PA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Road, Bethel, PA. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.
