Michael Grant Gerhart Jr., 35, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026.
Grant was born in Harrisburg, PA, on Nov. 20, 1990, to Jeanette A. (Whitworth) Gerhart, of Jonestown, and the late Michael G. Gerhart Sr., who passed away in 2024. He was a graduate of Palmyra High School and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers Business School in New Jersey. Grant worked in the music industry for various label companies and venues.
In his younger days, he enjoyed skateboarding and was a talented artist with his drawings. More recently, he liked traveling to the beach and singing karaoke. He loved the ocean, the mountains, and delicious food. Having lived in New York, he was well-traveled and enjoyed navigating the city, whether walking or using the subway system. Music was always his passion from a young child on, and to be a musician in the music industry. He loved traveling to venues and festivals all over the world. During his travels, he went to Coachella several times and to Barcelona for the music festival. With his career, he was able to meet several musicians, and he won contests over the last 15 years to travel to Venus for artists he loved and festivals all over the world. Grant loved being with his family and will be forever remembered as a bright, loving, and kind gentleman.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his sister, Ashlyn R. Gerhart, of Jonestown; paternal grandmother, Annette (Reinfeld) Gerhart, of Palmyra; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins on the East Coast and throughout the Midwest. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Deacon Gerhart; maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Rose and Martin Alfred Whitworth Sr.; and cousins, Joseph Whitworth and Dane Whitworth.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Route 72 & Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. There will be a visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park, Lebanon.
