Michael J. Swoyer, 65, of Lickdale PA, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at home. Born in Lebanon, PA on August 27, 1955, Michael was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Arnt) Swoyer.

Michael was retired from MSC in Lickdale. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything that involved fresh air. He maintained a modest garden of tomatoes and peppers and loved to cook soups and stews, often incorporating the wild game he got while hunting. He volunteered with the Fort Indiantown Gap Hunting Club and prior to that was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 431.

Michael had friends all across the country and would often recognize a familiar face regardless of the state or city he was in. Those who knew him knew he was pleasant to be around and could talk for hours catching up on life events. He would often carry Lifesaver Candies around to hand out offering to “Sweeten your day”

Michael is survived by a son, David M. Swoyer, significant other of Sumaya Sanam, two brothers, Joseph Swoyer, husband of Barbara, and Andrew Swoyer, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Swoyer, husband of Linda.

Michael was a valuable friend, caring family member, and amazing father. A Remembrance of Life picnic event will be held at Memorial Lake State Park on July 10th at noon. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements. Please share your memories with the family at our online guest book at thompsonfuneralhomelebanon.com
