Michael J. Wallace, 77, of Lebanon died Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Born in Norfolk, VA on October 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Frederick H. Gunkel and the late Juneau A. Hoen. Michael was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he completed two tours with the 173rd Airborne BDE. He considered himself a native of Reno, Nevada, where he graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno with his Bachelor of Science degree. He later obtained his Master of Arts at the University of Nebraska. Michael enjoyed shooting, traveling, museums, sailing on Lake Tahoe, and sharing all his stories. He was a volunteer fireman in Frisco, Texas.
Surviving is his wife, Teresa Wallace, of Lebanon, two stepsons, Ricardo Ramos-Martin, fiancée of Kelsey Hurley, of Lancaster, Tomas Ramos-Martin, of Hawaii, and a daughter, Erin Michalak, of British Columbia, Canada. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia (Gunkel) Widdicombe.
Services will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave, Lebanon, PA 17042 in his memory. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville is overseeing arrangements.
