Myrtle E. Rodkey, 82, of Jonestown, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Spang Crest Manor. She was the wife of George H. Rodkey. On May 24th, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Born in Jonestown on October 25, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Leroy E. and Alice R. Gettle Fake. Myrtle retired from Philadelphia Mixers in Palmyra where she had worked as a payroll clerk. She had been a member of the River of Life Church in Lebanon. She loved to cook, bake, garden, craft, decorate for Christmas, travel, and especially spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Brian L. Rodkey, of Annville; daughter Deborah L. Hoffman, of Myerstown; sister Lena Worcester, of Annville; grandchildren Bobbie Jo, Joshua, Michelle, Melissa, and Joseph; and great-grandchildren Ashley & Samuel Gonzalez, Jasmine Tshudy, Michael Schreiber, and Daniel & Benjamin Deitzler.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Peter M. Hoffman, granddaughter Jamie L. Hoffman Gonzalez, great-grandson Caleb J. Deitzler, and brothers Elton, Russell, Clyde, Terry, and Leon Fake.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 24th, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the service on Monday. Interment will follow at Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery, N. Lebanon Twp.
