N. Clair Clawser, 79, of Poplar Grove, passed into the arms of Jesus on July 27, 2024, at his home.
He was born on July 5, 1945, in Hershey, PA, the son of Willis and Margaret Clawser.
He was a 1963 graduate of Hershey High School and was engaged in the printing business most of his life under the name of AFC Press. He self-published a book “Cast Iron Signs of Pennsylvania Towns,” which was a result of 50 years of research. Other notable accomplishments in Clair’s life were being a 10-plus years cancer survivor and an avid runner with over 1,500 races to his credit. He loved to travel, having visited 46 states plus parts of Canada. He was a member of the “One Accord Chorus” and the “Gap Male Chorus.” Recently, he worked part-time at Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster as a ride operator.
Surviving him are his brother, Willis N. (Bill) Clawser Jr., and wife, Bonnie, of Shamokin Dam, PA; his sister, Carol R. Imm, and husband, Ron, of Pasadena, CA; his nephews, Timothy S. Clawser, of West Palm Beach, FLA, Daniel S. Clawser, of Lititz, PA, Damian S. Clawser, of Leola, PA, and Brian Imm, of Pasadena, CA; his nieces, Tamara C. Brungard, of Jersey Shore, PA, Ruth E. Brown, of Yorktown, VA, and Colleen C. Wickersheim, of Overland Park, KS; and many extended family.
Family and friends will be received at 11 a.m. on Aug. 24 for a memorial at the Kreamer Funeral Home in Annville. There will be a visitation time from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Annville Cemetery. All are invited to the burial, please be advised, there is no seating or tent at the cemetery.
