Nancy J. Layser, 71, passed away on July 25, 2026, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of John Layser for 54 years.
Nancy Layser was born on Oct. 7, 1954, in Lebanon, PA, to Carl and Margaret Wenger (Buffenmeyer). Nancy graduated from ELCO High School in 1972. Nancy retired from Wenger’s of Myerstown in 2021 after over 30 years of working. Following her retirement, she enjoyed her flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and shopping. She and her husband loved getting away to their beach house in Delaware. She was a lifelong member of Myerstown Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her daughter, Greta Koppenhaver (Layser), wife of Michael Koppenhaver; and son, Eric Layser, husband of Lindsay Layser (Frankfort); grandchildren, Lisa Litschi (Koppenhaver), wife of Nathanael Litschi, Jena Miller (Koppenhaver), wife of Dustin Miller, Sara Hill (Koppenhaver), wife of Dylan Hill, Eric Layser Jr., and Evan Layser; great-grandchildren, Weston, Myles, and Drew Miller, Nolan Hill, and Aurora Litschi; siblings and spouses, Lloyd and Kitty Wenger, Larry and Becky Wenger, Carol and Dennis Dieffenbach, David and Gwendolyn Wenger, Glenn and Robin Wenger, and Rose and John Walmer. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret Wenger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Wenger; daughter, Renee Layser; and granddaughter, Danica Layser.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, from 9-10 a.m., at Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave., Myerstown, PA, 17067. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Myerstown, PA.
