Nellie J. Raiger, 95, formerly of Lebanon, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, in Fake Greenhouse at Londonderry Village in Palmyra. She was the wife of the late Grant R. Raiger, Jr. who died in 2003.

Born in Myerstown on Apr. 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Alma Yeager Wolfe. For 19 years, she worked as a teacher’s aide for the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. Prior to that, she worked at the Lebanon Bethlehem Steel during WWII.

Nellie was a 1943 graduate of South Lebanon High School and a member of the former Tabor United Church of Christ in Lebanon, where she served on the consistory as an elder and helped in the soup kitchen.

Surviving is a sister, Gloria A. Wentling, of Palmyra. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Raiger, a daughter, Kathryn L. Raiger, a sister, Verna Spang, and four brothers, Rev. Barry Wolfe, Russell H. “Buss” Wolfe, Lowell Wolfe, and Howard Wolf.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 500 University Dr., P.O. Box 850, Hershey, PA 17033 in her memory.
