Orpha Arlene (Gibble) Ginder, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 22, 2026, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon.
Born on May 25, 1933, in Heidelberg Township, Orpha was the daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude Gibble. She shared 54 loving years of marriage with her husband, James Ginder, until his passing on March 18, 2010.
Orpha lived a life marked by quiet humility, steadfast faith, and selfless service. She was a graduate of Heidelberg Township High School and the Lancaster School of Nursing. She devoted her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She retired from the UCC Home in Annville, where her compassion and gentle spirit touched countless lives.
A faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Orpha found joy in worship and fellowship. She sang in the church choir and faithfully volunteered for many years with Lebanon County Christian Ministries. Orpha was blessed with many talents. She was an accomplished knitter, gardener, tatter, and seamstress. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and her Sunday dinners became a cherished family tradition.
Above all else, Orpha treasured her family. She is the mother of Fredric Ginder (Betsey), Carol Lizee (Philip), and Andrew Ginder (Ann). She is nana to Megan Quirk (Denis), Amy Lizee, Graham Ginder (Sarah), Benjamin Ginder (Melanie), and Joseph Ginder (Zara). She is also a great-nana to Maeve and Auden Quirk, and Nina and James Ginder. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Warren Gibble, Bernice Farley, and Luella Groff.
Orpha’s quiet strength and humble spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
A celebration of Orpha’s life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Schaefferstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ or Lebanon County Christian Ministries, in honor of her lifelong commitment to faith and service.
