Patricia Jane “Pat” (Spangler) Forker Battistelli, 87, of Annville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Archie R. Battistelli.
Born in York, PA, on Sept. 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Louise (Gingerich) Spangler. Pat married her best friend, Archie, on Aug. 15, 1980. They raised four children together — two Forkers and two Battistellis. They were married for 33 years and had six granddaughters.
Pat graduated from Central York High School and went on to attend Thompson Business School, AIB Banking School, and various other banking courses. During her career, she worked for York Bank and Trust, Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia, and Hershey Bank, which became PNC. She was ultimately promoted to vice president at PNC Bank in Hershey. Pat always said her claim to fame was surviving four teenagers while managing three different branches. After retiring from PNC, she provided childcare for her granddaughters, which was even more rewarding and freed her from having to be a stickler for the rules.
Pat was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lebanon, where she continued Archie’s legacy of helping to organize the annual golf tournament to benefit local children. On Saturday mornings in winter, she could be found frying sausages and expediting orders at Kiwanis Pancake Breakfasts, another tradition she shared with Archie. She was a long-time supporter of Shriners Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia. She attended both St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Annville and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lebanon.
Pat was a skilled crocheter and could always be found working on a baby blanket for an expecting friend, neighbor, or family member. She was known to challenge her granddaughters to intense games of UNO or air hockey. She was an avid supporter of any activity her granddaughters participated in and attended as many as she could. She loved adventures with her daughters and granddogs. She always made sure everyone knew what she meant, even if it wasn’t exactly what she said.
Pat died on the afternoon of Jan. 5 after a brief illness. She is survived by her children, William Forker IV, and his wife, Michelle, Lisa Battistelli, Kristin Forker, and her husband, Charles Pastor, and Michael Battistelli, and his wife, Julie; granddaughters, Ella Battistelli, Erin Forker, Alicia Battistelli, Alie Forker, Maria Battistelli, and Marissa Battistelli; niece, Debra Zartman; nephew, Doug Markey; niece and goddaughter, Gina Battistelli; nephews, Ken and Chris Battistelli; and brothers-in-law, Don Battistelli, and his wife, Louise, and Ken Battistelli, and his wife, Bonnie. She also leaves behind many special friends and family. In addition to her husband and parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her in-laws, Archie and Mary; sister, Joan; and nephews, Rick and Todd.
