Paul A. LeVan Jr., 76, of North Lebanon Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Mary Ann Malinowski LeVan. On Feb. 24, they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on April 4, 1947, he was the son of the late Paul A. Sr. and Emma Hutchison LeVan.
He graduated from Wm. Penn High School, New Castle, DE, with the Class of 1966. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He then went on to serve 30 years in the U.S. Army National Guard and retired as SFC. Paul was a civilian employee with the Department of Defense and retired from the Indiantown Gap Fire Department. He was a salaried employee of the American Red Cross, and he also volunteered for them for 51 years. He was a member of the American Legion, a life member of the VFW, and a member of Rescue Hose #4. He taught CPR and First Aid with the Red Cross. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christine L., wife of Shon Shellehamer, of Lebanon; son, Paul A. LeVan III, of Lebanon; sisters, Mary Ellen Veid, of New Castle, DE, and Virginia Scott, of MD; sister-in-law, Marilyn LeVan, of Bear, DE; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph LeVan; and sister, Dorothy Lambdin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
