Paul D. Lerch, 82, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Lebanon County, died on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at his residence. He was the husband of Frances A. (Evans) Lerch, to whom he was married 59 years on June 23, 2021.

Born in East Hanover Twp. on Oct. 17, 1939, he was a son of the late Ephraim V. and Cora M. (Stephen) Lerch.

He was a 1957 graduate of Fredericksburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. He was an owner of the Paul D. Lerch Notary and Tax Service, Bethel, for 30 years. Paul retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service, last working in the 28th Finance Battalion. He attended the Southpoint Baptist Fellowship, Leesburg, FL. Paul enjoyed fishing and traveling. He served as a supervisor for Bethel Twp., Berks County, for eight years. Paul was a retired senior partner with Metropolitan Life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tirza M. Winn, of Joliett, and Pamela P., wife of David Gibble, of Lebanon; sons, David P. Lerch, of Joliett, and Paul D., II, husband of Shelly Lerch, of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Wertz, of Lebanon; a brother, Carl Lerch, of Lebanon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Charles Winn; sisters, Margaret Sattazahn, Ruth Hostetter, and Irene Troutman; and brothers, Howard, Raymond, Allen, Harry, and John Lerch.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 23, at 12:30 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
