Paul W. Felty, 61, of Bethel, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at home. He was the husband of Gina E. (Frey) Felty.
Born in Lebanon on Oct. 11, 1962, Paul was the son of Maria Frances (Serba) Felty and the late Dr. Jay Allen Felty.
Paul graduated from Cedar Crest High School in 1980 and obtained an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1982. He was employed at W.C. Eshenaur & Son, Inc. as a sheet metal mechanic.
He resided in the family home that he built at the base of the Blue Mountains. He spent much of his childhood falling in love with nature. Paul had an incredible love of the outdoors, and was often found hunting, gardening, and practicing husbandry on the beloved family property.Â
Paul had a passion for all the family pets, especially his golden retrievers and raising litters of puppies to share with other families. Paul eagerly shared his wisdom and knowledge of all things construction with those around him, especially his children.
His sense of humor was inimitable and like no other. Paul never met a stranger, and could connect with anyone he met.
Paul had a passion and love of local history. Some of his fondest memories included day trips to historical sites with his family like the abandoned Turnpike tunnels, railroads, Centralia, and Knoebels.
In addition to his wife and mother, Paul is survived by his children: Wade Felty, Christina Felty, partner of Stuart Knox, Schuyler Felty, husband of Angela, Kevin Felty, husband of Sarah, Chase Zserai, husband of Andrea, Christa Felty, partner of Zachary Valencik, and Leviticus Felty; and honorary grandchildren, Evan Keller, Emily Valencik, Charlee Valencik, and Avalon Valencik. He is also survived by siblings, Dana Felty, husband of Joyce, and Janine Jonovich, wife of Christopher along with several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 South 9th Street, Lebanon with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements.
