Paulette M. “Red” Sherwood, 76, of Lebanon, PA, peacefully passed away on June 26, 2025, following a valiant battle against a rare autoimmune blood disorder.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, to the late Charles and Pauline (Hoenicka) Moyer. There was nobody on this planet quite like Paulette. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know her was gifted the chance to see what living life to the absolute fullest and loving people with utter ferocity looked like. She was as fiercely devoted to the privileged few who experienced her love as she was intimidating to those who did not.
The love, mutual respect, and devotion Paulette shared with her husband, William Sherwood, for the incredible 60 years they knew each other, 52 of which were spent in marriage, was an example that everyone should strive for.
Paulette was brilliant, wise, determined, stubborn, hilarious, witty, sharp, wholeheartedly protective of her friends and family, and an incredibly unique and beautiful soul. Her friends and family will forever be grateful for the opportunity to have loved and been loved by her, and they will celebrate and cherish her memory for the rest of their lives.
Paulette is survived by her best friend, soulmate, and beloved husband, William Sherwood; son, Justin Sherwood (and his wife, Jena); daughter, MiKel South (and her husband, Adam); brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy and Nancy Sherwood; and grandchildren, Kya and Delaney Sherwood and Maelan and Kaedyn South.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Paulette’s name to wAIHA Warriors at www.waihawarriors.org.
