Peggy L. Buffenmeyer, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at Cornwall Manor Health Center.
Peggy was born on May 30, 1933, to the late Ida Maude (May) and Leroy Hoffman. She was a lifelong resident of Schaefferstown and was famous for her sand tarts and sugar cookies.
On April 29, 1950, Peggy married Abram L. Buffenmeyer. After 74 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2024. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and antiquing with her daughter. She loved animals, but most of all, her family.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jean D. Louwerse; granddaughter, Melissa (Stephen) Andrews; great-grandchildren, Emily (William) Bragg and Timothy (Alyssa) Andrews; great-great-granddaughters, Marceline Bragg and Paisley Andrews; and nephew, Ray Horn (Patricia) and family.
Per the family’s request, there will be no formal services, but they would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone at Cornwall Manor for Peggy’s care and a special thank you to John and Charlie for their much-appreciated visits.
