Philip G. Morgan, 85, of Annville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Gathman) Morgan, to whom he was married for 62 years.

Born in Mulberry, Kansas, he was the son of the late John and Anita (Marchetti) Morgan.

Philip graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS, with his master’s degree in music education and retired from Lebanon Valley College after 34 years as a voice and music professor. He taught private lessons at LVC following his retirement as well as at his home for many students. Philip enjoyed singing, listening to classical music as well as jazz, attending operas and concerts, and being a vocal coach to hundreds of students over the years.

During his time at LVC, he also spent several summers as a vocal coach at Hersheypark for their seasonal productions working with many young singers who eventually made it to Broadway and TV. Philip was a member of NATS, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and a member of the Voices of Palmyra Choral Group. He gained a passion for good food, wine, and travel with his wife, Susan, while living in Germany and France in the early years of his career and their marriage.

In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by two children, Mireille, wife of Mike Cottle, and Anthony Morgan; and one grandson, Tyler Cottle, and wife, Chantel.

Honoring Philip’s wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Voices of Palmyra, P.O. Box 462, Palmyra, PA 17078 in his memory.
