(Ret.) Master Sgt. Robert Otto Nicely, 80, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the Harrisburg Hospital. He was born Thursday, October 24, 1940, to the late Fredrick W., Sr. and Esther (Conden) Nicely. He is survived by his loving wife, Kuni (Hahakabe) Nicely.
Robert was a proud Retired Master Sergeant Air Force Veteran who served in Vietnam. Later in life, he enjoyed working outside and drinking his morning coffee with his son. More than anything he loved to spend time with his grandkids as he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert F. Nicely and wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Alisha and Jacob Nicely; sister-in-law, Shirley Nicely; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Fredrick W. Jr. Nicely and Jean Evans and husband Paul.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Reverend Carl Rabbe officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
