Richard E. Wenrich, 74, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, in the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the loving husband of Dolores Freed Wenrich, to whom he was married for 46 years.
Richard was born in Lebanon on Sept. 19, 1946, a son of the late Ralph and Martha Strack Wenrich. He was a 1964 graduate of South Lebanon High School and had served in the PA National Guard for 22 years, having attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. He retired as a maintenance supervisor at ALCOA with 28 years of service. He was active in his community, having served on the Board of Directors of the Lebanon Federal Credit Union as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Committee. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge #704 F & AM and was a member of the Tall Cedars Quittapahilla Forest #25. He was also a member of Zion Goshert’s UCC Church, where he served on the cemetery committee. Dick was an avid Harley rider who loved the outdoors and spent time working in his garden, fishing, and bird watching.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Todd Wenrich, and wife, Tracy, Michael Wenrich, and wife, Faith, Lisa Davis, grandchildren, Michael Wenrich, Joseph Wenrich, Abigail Davis, Bobby Shank, and Justin Root, and a brother, Carl Wenrich.
A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 as well as on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Zion Goshert’s UCC Church, 1588 Mt. Zion Rd., Lebanon, PA 17046. Current CDC guidelines will be followed with social distancing.
