Richard L. Hoffman, 87, of Annville, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was the loving husband of Rachel (Heilman) Hoffman, to whom he was married for 68 years.

Born in E. Hanover Twp., he was the son of the late Robert B. and Elsie (Wolfe) Hoffman.

Richard was a 1954 graduate of Annville High School and was a truck driver for most of his working career. He was a member of Hill Lutheran Church and a member of the Mt. Lebanon Masonic Lodge #226, Tall Cedars, and the Harrisburg Consistory. Richard was an avid Penn State football fan and enjoyed mowing grass at his church and the family farm.

In addition to his wife, Rachel, he is survived by two children, Debra Aplan, of Lewes, DE, and James R. Hoffman Sr., and wife, Deborah, of Annville; six grandchildren, James R. Hoffman Jr., and wife, Shannon, Jessica Robinson, Amy, wife of Robert Stevenson, Kurt Aplan, and wife, Alli, Melissa, wife of William Elliott, and Jillian Aplan; 12 great-grandchildren, Mason, Aubrey, Kassidy, Brittney, Olivia, Rollie, Rachel, Russell, Grant, Nina, Cole, and Brooks; and sister, Betty Dunkelberger.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at 11 AM from Hill Lutheran Church, 998 N. Mill St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Inurnment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. There will be a visitation from 10 AM until the time of his service at the Church.
