Robert Charles “Bob” Hartman, 89, entered the presence of his Savior on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, from the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville, PA. He formerly lived in Cleona, PA.
Bob was born in Lebanon, PA, on Jan. 3, 1935, to the late Hencil and Thelma (Kalbach) Hartman.
He was a 1953 graduate of Annville High School. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was stationed in England for three years, following which he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Elizabethtown College. On Aug. 30, 1959, he married his wife of 65 years, Patricia (Meyer) Hartman, who survives. His work in the accounting field through the years included employment at Lebanon Chemical, Lebanon Valley College, and Fort Indiantown Gap. Following his retirement he worked as a part-time groundskeeper at Pine Meadows Golf Complex.
With his wife, Pat, Bob was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Annville, PA, where he served in many ministries through the years, including teaching teen and adult Sunday school classes, serving on the church board/council, singing in the choir, and mowing the church property.
Besides his wife, Pat, he is survived by his daughters, Christie (David) Dennis, of Lebanon, PA, and Betty Ann (Jeffrey) Hinds, of Wausau, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Calina Hinds, Leah (Andrew) Leslie, Elizabeth (Curtis) Denlinger, Adam Kays, Samuel (Kristina) Dennis, Sandra (Ryan) Barnhart, Joseph (Ashley) Dennis, Fredrick Dennis, Isaiah Hinds, and Hannah Hinds; great-grandchildren, Alanah, Lucy, Quentin, Piper, Violet, RaeLynn, Anais, Webster, Jasper, Chloe, Seraphina, Ronan, Ember, and Cara; brothers, James W. Hartman and Michael A. (Linda) Hartman; sister, Carol A. Kreider; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Ganter Grun; brothers-in-law, Robert A. Ganter, Frederick H. Grun, and Roy J. Kreider; and sister-in-law, M. Jean Hartman.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of the Lebanon Valley Home, who provided Bob with such patient and kind care these past five years.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main St., Annville, PA 17003. An additional public viewing will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 710 S. White Oak St., Annville, PA 17003. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church. Interment will be held in Kauffman’s Cemetery, Annville.
