Robert F. “Bob” Lengle, 96, of Lebanon, formerly of Tremont, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, in Cedar Haven. He was the husband of Joan I. (Seiger) Lengle, to whom he was married for 67 years on Sept. 15.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy following his graduation from Tremont High School in 1946. He was later employed for over 25 years as an arc welder with Cleaver Brooks, and after retirement, he worked part-time at Gill Rock Drill Co, Inc.
His interests, which were many and varied, included playing trombone with the Tremont Community Band, listening to music (especially Dixieland and Big Band), baseball (Go Phillies!), travel, photography, reading, history, and reminiscing and sharing memories from “the old times,” especially of his boyhood days spent on his grandparents’ farm at Steins Mill in Schuylkill County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth, and son-in-law, James Wohlfeil, of Myerstown; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his siblings, William Lengel, Ruth Freeman, and Gloria Kovack.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
