Robert I. Derr, 87, of Palmyra, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Cedar Haven. He was the loving husband of Carol A. (Longenecker) Derr, to whom he was married for 41 years.

Born in Prescott, he was a son of the late Charles and Elsie (Kreiser) Derr.

Robert was a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School and worked as a custodian for 13 years with the Milton Hershey School and with Quaker Alloy in Myerstown. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in his workshop, and helping his son at Penn National with horse races. Robert spent quality time with his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert Derr and his wife Sheri and Barry Derr and his wife Michele; two daughters, Charlotte White and Kimberly, wife of Lamar Neidigh; two stepsons, Joseph Dowdrick and his wife Joan and Michael Dowdrick; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Barbara, wife of Neil Gingrich.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Neidigh, and two siblings, Charles Derr, Jr. and Doreen Hamblin.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
