Robert J. Bashore, 97, passed away on Dec. 22, 2025, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA.
Robert was born on Aug. 12, 1928, in Bethel, PA, to David and Minerva Bashore. After high school, Robert proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He then started his long career as a truck driver for Roadway Express. After retiring, Robert worked as a truck driver for Dunbar Armored in Pennsylvania and Florida.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mildred R. Bashore; daughter, Colleen; stepsons, Randy (Charlene) Ziegler and Richard (Stephanie) Ziegler; grandson, Jason (Jennifer) Ziegler; great-grandson, Gannon Ziegler; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Ziegler; sister-in-law, Faydeen Gerhart; and nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his siblings, David Bashore, Henry Bashore, Paul Bashore, George Bashore, and Edith Kreiser.
The service for Mr. Robert Bashore will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., at Christman’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., with a viewing preceding at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
