Robert J. “Bob” Strong, 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Church of God Nursing Home in Carlisle. He was the husband of the late Sharon S. Strong, who passed away in 2018. Bob was respected by everyone who knew him and loved by everyone who knew him well.
Bob was born in Spangler, PA, on April 30, 1938, to the late Paul and Winifred (Greene) Strong. He was a graduate of Millersville University and later obtained his master’s degree in education. Bob was a middle school English teacher for the Cornwall-Lebanon School District. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading poetry, exercising, and following Penn State football and wrestling.
Surviving are his sons, Robert A. Strong, of Rugby, ND, and Michael D. Strong (Sharyl), of Mechanicsburg; granddaughters, Amanda and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Strong, Ken Strong, Jack Strong, and Pete Strong.
