Robert Lehman “Bob” Bowermaster Sr., 89, of Ephrata, and formerly of Elizabethtown and Lititz, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, 2025. Born in Georgetown, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Mary Grace (Lehman) Bowermaster. He was married to Barbara (Fasnacht) Bowermaster until her passing in 2010.
Bob was a graduate of Solanco High School in Quarryville, PA. Soon after, he began his career with Allegheny Airlines at Lancaster Airport and later with US Air at Harrisburg International Airport in their baggage claim department for over 44 years. Bob enjoyed all things outdoors, such as canoeing, hiking, mowing and tending to his yard, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He also had a pilot’s license. He was a member of Twin Springs Hunting Camp in Amberson, PA. He was a history buff and loved learning about Gettysburg, was a talented woodworker, and cherished his many animals. Bob was a devoted and loving father and a friend to many over the years.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Debra Vansickle; grandchildren, Dennis Zekany Jr. (Amanda), Jennifer George (Roger), Paris Bowermaster, and Rome Bowermaster; great-grandson, Mason Zekany; siblings, Barbara Baylor (Edward), Mary Grace Bowermaster, and Richard Bowermaster (Linda); sister-in-law, Patricia Bowermaster; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his son, Robert Jr.; and siblings, Arlene Pfautz (Martin) and Edwin Bowermaster.
