Robert Lowell “Bob” Stauffer, 82, of Myerstown, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his residence. Bob was the loving husband of Karen L. (Boyer) Stauffer, to whom he was married for 62 years.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Orville and Grace (Gibble) Stauffer. Bob attended the Local Christian Assembly Forest Hills Church of Ephrata.
Bob met his loving wife, Karen, when she came to thin peaches on the family orchard where Bob started his trucking career. He purchased his first truck in 1962 and was an owner-operator for over 60 years. He started R.L. Stauffer & Sons, Inc., in 1990 and Karob Trucking LLC in 1995. During his years of trucking, he transported steel, heavy equipment, refrigerated products, and produce.
In 1985, Bob and his sons started raising hay for local farmers as well as raising corn, wheat, and soybeans. Also growing and hauling pumpkins for Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company. He finished his career hauling packages for FedEx, retiring in 2015.
During his retirement, he worked part-time for Cumberland Truck Equipment, picking up and delivering trucks for customers. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, who enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycle, and snowmobiling in his free time.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Karen, are three sons, Douglas L. Stauffer, husband of Cynthia, of Harrisburg, Bradley R. Stauffer, husband of Cheri, of Bethel, and Jacob L. Stauffer, of Myerstown; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joanne Maurer, of Lebanon, Doris, wife of Nolan Keeney, of Bethel, Terry Stauffer, husband of Mary, of Franklin, North Carolina, Gloria, wife of Dennis Seiverling, of Bethel, Phillip Stauffer, husband of Barbara, of Myerstown, and Deborah, wife of John Seiverling, of Bethel.
Preceding him in death is his brother, Gerald Stauffer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing at Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory, 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon, PA 17042, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a funeral service held at the Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. There will be a time of viewing and visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Zion Gosherts United Church of Christ Cemetery, 1588 Mount Zion Road, Lebanon, PA 17046.
