Ronald P. Ditzler, 79, of Lebanon, passed away in his home on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was the husband of Joan M. Dechert Ditzler with whom he was married to for 57 years.

He was born in Lebanon on March 13, 1942, a son of the late Paul W. and Alma Neidig Ditzler. Ronald was employed at the Lebanon Steel Foundry for many years as a computer programmer. He served in the US Navy and was a naval musician. He graduated from the Navy School of Music in Washington DC, and was known for playing his trombone in several bands and combos in Lebanon area. Ronald was a dedicated family man, loved music and animals.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Jodi Ditzler Stuker and husband Paul, of Louisiana, Bradley Ditzler and wife Faith, of Mt. Gretna, PA, Timothy Ditzler and wife Melissa, of Annville, PA, grandchildren, Joshua Short and wife Danielle, Shaun Ditzler, Ryan Yoder, Adrienne Yoder, Conner Ditzler, Carter Ditzler, great-grandchildren, Sophia Short, Lena Short, Wyatt Yoder, Charlotte Yoder, sister, Charlotte Allwein and husband Charles, of Mt. Gretna, sister-in-law, Jean Ditzler, and brother-in-law, Gene Dechert.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Ditzler. He was very much loved and he will be greatly missed.

Graveside service and military honors will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
