Ronald “Ron” Popp Jr., 64, of Galeton, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at MS Hershey Medical Center. Ron was the husband of Teresa L. (Bomgardner) Popp, with whom he celebrated 14 years of marriage.
Ron was born in Hershey on June 27, 1961, to Ronald and Jo Nell (Light) Popp of Annville. He was a graduate of Palmyra High School. Ron was the supervisor at Carmeuse Lime and Stone. Ron was the coach of his son Matt’s hockey team. Ron enjoyed hunting, especially turkey hunting, being outside on his and his wife’s side-by-side, and taking in all nature has to offer. He was always known for being a jokester.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and his wife, are his children, Amy Keppley (Jeffrey), of Palmyra, and Matthew Popp, of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Brayden James Popp, Alexis Elizabeth Popp, and Brielle Jocelynn Popp; fur grandbaby, Walter; brothers, Gary Popp, of Aurora, CO, and Doug Popp, and his wife, Lisa, of Annville; and father-in-law, William “Bill” Bomgardner. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Bomgardner; and many family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren, 1261 Mount Wilson Road, Lebanon. There will be a visitation with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
