Ronald W. Rott, 79, of Myerstown, PA, died on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born in Hershey, PA, on Jan. 5, 1947, he was a son of the late William and Willa (Margo) Rott. A 1965 graduate of Palmyra High School, Ronald served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a machinist at Johnson & Johnson, formerly Warner-Lambert and Pfizer, from where he retired. Ronald was a life member of the Manheim VFW and a member of the Germania Band of Manheim, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his daughters, Janelle, wife of Kirk Merkey, and Jennifer, wife of Robert Patterson; grandchildren, Donavon, husband of Kyla Wolfe, Jesse Patterson, Joshua Frew, Karley Merkey, and Kenzie Merkey; great-grandchildren, Avi, James, and Emmett; and sisters, Linda King and Judy Brown. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Rott; sisters, Paula, Betty, and Brenda; and brother, Michael.
Services and inurnment will be private. A viewing with open microphone sharing will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 4-6 p.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
