She was born on April 28, 1984, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She was adopted by her mother, Mildred (Huber) Showalter, when she was nine months old.

They lived in Honduras until Rose was 3 years old. She then moved with her mother and two sisters to Ontario, Canada, and later relocated to Tennessee. Rose gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and was baptized. She joined the fellowship of the church and has been a faithful member. In her early 20s, Rose worked in Metter, GA, for a time and then moved to Gleason, WI, where her parents had relocated. She took care of foster children during the several years she was there. She moved to Pennsylvania in 2010, where she became a member of Providence Mennonite Church. She worked at various jobs, but her greatest joy was to serve as a nurse and caregiver at Kindred Place in Harrisburg, where she was greatly loved by residents and staff. She will be remembered by all for her joy of living and her cheerful service to friends and family.

Rose is survived by her mother, Mildred (Huber) Showalter, of Gleason, WI; and her nine siblings, Joseph (Rosemary) Showalter, of West Liberty, KY, Jonathan (Freida) Showalter, of Gleason, WI, Daniel (Marian) Showalter, of Martha, KY, James (Elfreda) Showalter, of Aztec, NM, Joyanna (Walter) Martin, of Lucedale, MS, Ivy (Allen) Steiner, of Straffordville, ON, Jennifer Showalter, of Fredericksburg, PA, Eunice (Harlan) Witmer, of Arlington, VT, and Ethan (Caroline) Showalter, of West Liberty, KY.
