Ruth A. McCrone, 82, of Newmanstown, PA, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Alpine Valley Post Acute and Healthcare Center, Lebanon. She was the wife of Charles W. McCrone, whom she married in 2000.
Born in Lebanon, PA, on March 10, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Earl S. and Edith E. (Snoke) Hein. Ruth was a graduate of Annville-Cleona High School. She was employed as a banker for many years, lastly for Fulton Bank, until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed playing the piano and organ at Steelstown Church. Ruth was a dedicated volunteer in missionary work. She spent a couple of weeks each summer for 20 years at Victory Bible Camp in Sutton, Alaska. She also traveled to California, Costa Rica, and Japan for the mission field before marrying Charlie.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by four nephews; one niece; and her beloved bird, Max. She was preceded in death by her brother, E. Stephen Hein; and sister, Pearl Hartel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Steelstown Cemetery, Annville.
