Ruth E. Long, 96, of Palmyra, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024. She was the wife of the late Clarence H. Long, who died in August 1979.

Born in Bellegrove, she was a daughter of the late Henry F. and Emma (Yordy) Krum.

Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Annville High School and retired from Hershey Chocolate, completing more than 40 years where she worked in the wrapping room department.
A member of Bellegrove United Methodist Church, Ruth enjoyed traveling, playing cards, riding snowmobiles, attending family sporting events, and time spent with her beloved family.

She is survived by her sons, Leonard C. Long and Robert L. (Kathy) Long; daughter, Sharon L. Long; grandchildren, Sherri Long (Kevin) Smith, Michael L. (Tammy) Long, Adam (Alison) Long, and Nicholas (Stephanie) Long; and great-grandchildren, Trevor Christ, Shannon Christ, Isabella Long, Noah Long, Benjamin Long, Charlie Long, Madeline Long, Livy Long, Chase Long, and Ava Long.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Mahlon Krum; and sisters, Mildred Long and Kathryn Moyer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. from Bellegrove United Methodist Church, 1530 N. State Rte. 934, Annville. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at the Church. Interment will be in North Bellegrove Cemetery.
