Ruth S. Waltermyer, 102, of Lebanon, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Annville on July 17, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Sallie Deininger Shindel. She was a nurse’s aide working for 20 years on the psychiatric ward at the Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Ruth was a member of the Annville High School Class of 1936 and the Living Waters Chapel since 1949, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, greeter, and a member of the church prayer group and prime timers.

Surviving is two daughters, Sandra Miller, of Lebanon, and Dawn Barr Deppen, wife of Clarence Deppen, of Todd, a son, Stewart, husband of Diane Waltermyer, of Tunhannock, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Henry “Robert,” Ernest, Rodney, George, Clark, and Mark Shindel, and three sisters, June Evans, Martha Snyder, and Mary Cutman.

A Celebration of Life and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to Living Waters Chapel, 1900 Jay St., Lebanon, PA 17046 in her memory.
