Ryan Christopher Copenhaver, 52, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon.
Born in Lebanon, PA on Sept. 3, 1968, Ryan was the son of Wilma Fies, of Lebanon, and George E. Fies Sr., of Campbelltown. He was a Lebanon High School Class of 1987 graduate. Ryan was employed for many years at Extremities Entertainment of Lebanon. His love and knowledge of music was invaluable and helped him to develop many friendships with his customers over the years. He was also a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was a member of multiple social clubs and enjoyed spending time with his second families at each of them; Independent Fire Company Club, Liberty Marching Club, Mt. Zion Social Club, the Cumberland Club, and the Eagles Club, of Lebanon. He was also a long-time patron of many local taverns including the Willow House and Conners. He made friends wherever he went and loved to make people laugh and be happy. The life of the party is gone.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by sister, Anna M. Fies, and companion, Jake Sonnen, of Richland; brother, George E. Fies, Jr., of Lebanon; niece, Alyssa Dohner, of Myerstown, nephew, Aidan Yordy, of Richland, and great-niece and nephew, Brooke Ebling and Carter Dohner, of Myerstown. He is also survived by stepmother, Kay Fies, and stepsisters, Dawn Lyons, Trish Fisher, and Kimberly May.
Along with his family that is mourning this unexpected loss, Ryan had so many friends. To lifelong friends that he grew up with on N. 10th St., to the friends he made during various gatherings at his house on 9th St., and those friends that he had at all of the clubs that he actively attended, there is no doubt that he will be missed. He was a fan of concerts and has attended hundreds over the years. There are so many stories and memories to share, and his family appreciates the friendships you have all had with him over the years.
Due to Covid restrictions, a memorial service will be held in his honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ryan’s memory to the American Heart Association or Lebanon Humane Society.
