Samuel A. “Sam” Blauch, 84, of Palmyra, passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Londonderry Village. He was the husband of Romaine (Stover) Blauch, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Sam was born in Lebanon on June 19, 1941, to the late Warren and Miriam (Snoke) Blauch. He was a supervisor in the building trades for The Hershey Company, where he had worked for 42 years. He was a member of St. John’s EC Church in Steelstown, where he was a member of the choir, Sunday school teacher, and a superintendent and trustee board member. Sam volunteered at Victory Church in Alaska and Harvey Cedars in New Jersey. He was a member of the Steelstown Gun Club and the Woodworking and Scroll Saw Club and was involved in Gideon’s International. Sam’s hobbies included archery, scroll sawing, completing Sudoku puzzles, listening to Gaither’s Music, and enjoying chocolate chip cookies.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Timothy M. “Tim” Blauch (Jodi), of Palmyra, and Teresa A. Blauch, of Marietta; grandchildren, Ryan, Josh (Tiahanna), and Masey; and great-grandchildren, Elluh and Paisley. Sam also has multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Blauch; sisters, Joyce Bentzel and Crystal George; stepbrothers; and stepsister.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. John’s EC Church, 683 Steelstown Road, Annville. Interment will follow in St. John’s EC Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, from 4-6 p.m., and again on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, from 10-11 a.m., all at the church.
