Sandra, 83, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, June 20, 2025. Sandra, known to many as “Sandy,” passed peacefully at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Sandra was born on April 22, 1942, in Lebanon. She attended Lebanon High School and worked most of her career at Milsan Mills and Ingram Micro.

A devout Christian from her early years, Sandy was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon and also attended Zion Lutheran Church. In conjunction with her late mother, Luella Mathews, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandy helped to establish and then play piano for the first Cherub Choir. On Sunday mornings, you could always find her playing the piano or teaching children ages 2 to 4 alongside her mother in Sunday school.

You could often find Sandy in her beautiful garden at her prior home. She loved taking care of her flowers and experimenting with new flowers each year to make her garden continue to grow even more beautiful.

Sandy always held a special place in her heart for the dogs she had throughout her life, especially her beloved beagle, Katie. She loved visiting the Humane Society of Lebanon County to visit the dogs, and during the time she volunteered there, she loved walking the dogs. Sandy also enjoyed the many visits from her “grand-pups” during her later years of life.

Another passion of Sandy’s was dancing. She spent many years as a member of the LAA Playground Association, helping with the dances and other activities. You could always find Sandy, herself, dancing throughout her life; whether it was the jitterbug as a young girl, or in her later years of life, holding hands with her family and caregivers, encouraging everyone to join in the party. Everyone loved Sandy and couldn’t wait to dance with her. The moment music began to play, Sandy’s face would light up with a joy that was contagious to all those around her.

Sandy will be remembered for all she did for her church, her community, and her family.

Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter White Jr.; mother, Luella Mathews; and father, Edward F. Mathews.

Surviving are her children, Sherrie Davis (Heagy), wife of Ken Davis, Jack Heagy Jr., husband of Denise Heagy, and stepson, Walter White III; brother, Edward Mathews Jr., husband of Sandy; grandchildren, Tiffany Miller, David Davis, Brittany Klinger, and Derek Moody; and many great-grandchildren. Sandy is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kris Mease, Julie Girton, Danny Mathews, and Carrie Wenzler.
