Sharon A. “Scooter Mama” Vankirk, 71, of Jonestown, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at her home. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Vankirk.
Born in Lebanon on August 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Shirley Keller Miller.
Sharon retired from the Fort Indiantown Gap, where she had been a custodian. She was a member of the 910 American Legion Auxiliary. She loved the color purple. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, crocheting, and riding her Can-Am trike motorcycle. She especially wants to be remembered for making people laugh.
She is survived by her brothers, Robert Miller Jr., of Pine Grove, Scott Miller, of Palmyra, and Keith Miller, of Shermans Dale; and three nieces and two nephews.
A memorial gathering and time of remembrance will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the American Legion Post 910, 75 Fisher Ave., Jonestown.
