Sharon J. Davis, 79, of Jonestown, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of Donald A. “Duck” Davis. On March 29th, they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Born in Lebanon on January 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Marion Mohn Brandt.
Sharon retired in 2005 from Northern Lebanon School District, where she had been an elementary teacher. She was an active member of the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jonestown, where she had served as the former secretary of Council, on the Congregational Care Team, and she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Lebanon Co. Educational Honor Society. She volunteered for Jonestown Outreach Pantry. She was a member of the NLHS Class of 1961 and a graduate of Millersville University in 1965 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Faith and family were the centers of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who created a very special and close-knit family. Her grandchildren lovingly called her Gockie and Grammy.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Kristin A., wife of James Hoffer, of Palmyra, and Kara A., wife of David Lauver, Jr., of Jonestown; and grandchildren, Rebecca and Joey Hoffer, and Brayden and Alaina Lauver.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Edgar C. Brandt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 103 W. Market St., Jonestown. There will be a visitation on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Jonestown. A luncheon will follow at the church.
