Shirley A. Howard, 75, of Jonestown, passed away on Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, at WellSpan GSH in Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Francis Howard.

Born in Lickdale on Nov. 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Millard K. and Esther G. Boyer Kriner.

She worked as a janitor and retired from Swift Trucking in Lickdale. She enjoyed reading, tanning, and going to Wildwood Beach with her family. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne L., wife of David Strohm, of Jonestown, and Racheal M. Zeigler, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Ashley Strohm, Karalynn Zeigler, Donovan Zeigler, Tanner Zeigler, and Nadia Gingrich; a great-granddaughter, Raya Strohm O’Donnell; and Shirley’s companion, Les May.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita J. “Nita” Gingrich; a brother, Richard Boyer; and a sister, Carolyn May.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no services.
