Shirley A. Kiene, 89, of Myerstown, PA, died on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at her residence. She was the wife of Paul “Jack” Kiene, who died on March 2, 2016.
Born in Fredericksburg, PA, on Jan. 3, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Emma (Wolfe) Sharp. A graduate of Fredericksburg High School, Shirley was a member of St. Paul’s of Hamlin UCC, Fredericksburg. She was employed as a machine operator at Sterling Drug, Myerstown, for over 20 years, from which she retired. Shirley enjoyed reading, doing word searches, and watching soap operas, game shows, and the Phillies.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa, wife of Marc Kauffman, of Myerstown; son, Jeffrey Sharp, husband of Jane Spengler, of Myerstown; granddaughter, Taylor Moyer, fiancée of Mark Blouch; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Michael Kiene; sisters, Geraldine Krill and Madelyn Newswanger; and brother, Eugene Sharp.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul’s of Hamlin UCC, 2351 Mount Zion Road, Fredericksburg, PA 17026, preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s of Hamlin UCC, P.O. Box 417, Fredericksburg, PA 17026. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
