Shirley Ann [Good] Karinch, 91, lifelong resident of Quentin, PA, died peacefully on June 29, 2025, at Cornwall Manor, where she was a resident of their memory care unit. Previously a resident at Juniper Village, the staff at both facilities gave her wonderful care, patience, and respect.

Shirley was born on March 7, 1934. She was a 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School. According to her senior yearbook, “Squirt,” as she was nicknamed, was a member of the A Cappella Choir, the Girl’s Chorus, Tri-Hi-Y, and the Cheerleading Squad. Her senior quote was “Pint-sized, energetic cheerleader… liked by everyone… the life of every classroom.” To know her was to feel that energy for life!

Shirley was truly a trailblazer. She retired from Household Finance Corporation after 30 years of employment, serving as their first female manager.

Shirley was a servant leader. She was a member of the Quentin Riding Club, the Women’s Club of Lebanon, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, the Lebanon Community Theater, the Lebanon Maennerchor Club, the Harmonia Music Association, and numerous other local civic organizations. If you’ve dined at the Quentin Haus, you may have seen her seated at the bar, where she had breakfast daily for many, many years.

Shirley loved to sing and dance. In 2001, her talents earned her the title of “Ms. Pennsylvania Senior America.” She inspired future titleholders and supported the competition in many capacities for years to follow.

Shirley was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Joseph S. Karinch, who died in 1988; father, Russell L. Good; mother, Elizabeth J. Early; sister, Joan J. Good; and brother, James R. Good.

Numerous family members, extended family members, and friends live on to remember her legacy. Memorial contributions can be made in Shirley’s name to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 2596 Cornwall Road, Cornwall, PA 17016.
