Shirley Ann Keener, 94, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. She was the wife of the late Carl Keener, who passed away in 2011.

Born in Rexmont on Sept. 26, 1931, to the late Allen and Mabel (Wealand) Geib. She was a 1949 graduate of Cornwall High School and Lancaster General School of Nursing. Shirley worked part-time in the family business, Keener Electric Motors, and participated in the nurses’ health study at Harvard Medical School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Colebrook, where she was the organist for 50 years, sang in the choir, and served on many committees and councils. Shirley was also a member of the Eastern Star for many years. At the Masonic Village, she was a hospice volunteer and helped to start the nurses’ club. She enjoyed cooking, especially holiday meals, music, the piano, traveling, and crossword puzzles. Shirley loved being a mom to her three sons.

She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey C. (Mary), David A. (Janet), and Donald (Romayne); loving grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn, and Daniel; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Wilhelm; and brother, Dr. Donald Geib.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 58 Church Road, Manheim, PA 17545. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A visitation with her family will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at the Church.
