Shirley M. Bennick, 85, of Myerstown, died on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at her residence. She was the wife of Albert F. Bennick, to whom she was married 66 years in September.

Born in East Mauch Chunk, PA on Feb. 17, 1936, Shirley was a daughter of the late Mabel and William Kirchdoerfer.

She was a 1954 graduate of East Mauch Chunk High School. Shirley was employed as a nurse’s aide at ECCRV, Myerstown, for 25 years, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed reading and gardening.

Shirley is survived by daughters, Linda, wife of Jeffrey Thomas, of Myerstown, and Susan, wife of Paul Lawrence, of Denver, PA; grandchildren, Ryan, husband of Elyse Thomas, Megan, wife of Jason Martin, Mark Hess, Aubrey Lawrence, Sarah, wife of Mark Gabel, Julie Bennick, and Scott Bennick; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Savannah, Zander, Daphne, Clark, Braxton, Landon, Jack, Brody, and Lauren; a sister, Eleanor Nardozzi, of Nesquehoning; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Bennick, and brothers, Earl Knappenberger, Cliff Knappenberger, and Edward Kirchdoerfer.

There will be no service. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
