Starr L. Miller, 83, of Myerstown, died Saturday, September 18, 2021, at his residence.

He was the husband of Donna M. (Backenstose) Miller, to whom he would have been married 58 years on January 18, 2022. Born in Myerstown on August 3, 1938, he was a son of the late Ralph W. and Grace M. (Bickel) Miller. A 1956 graduate of Myerstown High School, Starr served in the US Air Force. He was a member of Tulpehocken UCC, Richland. Starr was employed as a foundry foreman at Aluminum Alloy, Sinking Spring for 33 years, retiring in 2002. He was also a self-employed farmer and worked at the Manheim Auto Auction. Starr enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was an avid Phillies fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sheila Maguire, of Warwick, RI, Erica Miller, of Harrisburg; son, Steve, husband of Beth Miller, of Richland; grandchildren, Jacob, Allison, Grace, Hannah, and John; two nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, June Miller.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Inurnment will be at Tulpehocken Cemetery, Richland.
