Stephen Robert Lew, 63, passed away Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, peacefully among his family after fighting a long battle with cancer for the past two years.

He was born on September 25th, 1958, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and served as a recruiter in the US Army National Guard for 27 years.

In 2019, Steve accomplished a lifelong goal of receiving his Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts at HACC, where he thereafter took his talents to study abroad in Italy and Spain. He loved food and cooking, animals, the ocean, golfing, cheering for the Steelers, beach trips with family and friends, and fishing, but mostly loved spending time with his daughters and grandson.

Steve was admired for his selfless, caring personality. He never complained and always managed to keep a positive attitude. He was very proud of his service to his country and had a special bond with the Wounded Warrior Project, spreading love and support for all veterans. He later fulfilled his passion for this project as he spent the last two years of his career as the Yellow Ribbon Coordinator for the Wounded Warrior Project in Anchorage, Alaska. Steve’s kind, tender-hearted spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristen Lew and Courtney Lew; a grandson, Romeo G-Lew; brother, Fred Lew and wife Janet Heffernan Lew, their children Jennifer Lew Mckinley, Christopher Lew, Kelly Lew Powers; and sisters, Patricia Arnone, Theresa Lew.

He is preceded in death by his son, Kyle Lew.
