Steward “Pete” A. Wire Sr., 72, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, in Lebanon, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Saturday, Sept. 1, 1951, to the late Stewart Wire and Viola Holtry in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

After graduating high school, Pete enlisted in the United States Air Force and served our country for 20 years before retiring. Pete was a hard-working man who made sure his family was always supported. Even after his military service, he continued to work as a truck driver for the Wolf Organization until he decided to retire and stay home to spend more time with his beloved wife, Toya. They were married in June 1975 and spent the last 48 years enjoying the outdoors and traveling back to Toya’s home country of Thailand. Pete also enjoyed watching Western movies and NCIS while he was being treated in the hospital and spending time outdoors whenever he could.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Somnuek “Toya” Sooekhuntod Wire; children, Sammie Wire, of Enola, Steward A. Wire Jr., of Mechanicsburg, and Somchai Sae-Tong, and spouse, Deb, of Florida; grandchildren, Addyson Wire, Brynleigh Wire, Bronx Wire, Jordan Stamper, and Grace Price; great-grandchild, Colton Price; sister, Debi Harkins; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral procession will be leaving Christman’s Funeral Home, 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, to transport Pete to his final resting place. Graveside service and military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
