Susan D. (Miller) Heilig, 68, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Jan. 4, 2024, with her daughter by her side. She was the wife of Barry Lee Heilig.
Born on Sept. 26, 1955, Susan was the daughter of the late Foster Paul and Phyllis Louise (Ludwig) Miller.
She was born in Lebanon County and grew up in Jonestown with her family. Susan loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was kind, generous, inviting, caring, loving, and, most of all, fun. She loved to laugh and was always ready for an adventure. She loved to travel and had traveled many places in her lifetime, with her favorite travel place being Aruba. She worked at Kellogg’s in Lancaster before retiring in 2017. She enjoyed her job and cherished the friends she made while working at Kellogg’s. After her retirement in 2017, she spent her time at home with her husband Barry and her three beloved dogs: Cosmo, Roxy, and Lexi, and continued to travel whenever she had the chance. Susan also enjoyed spending time with her family, riding motorcycle with her husband, and attending her favorite concerts with her daughter, grandchildren, and friends. She was loved by everyone she encountered, always making people feel welcomed and comfortable in her presence.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Stephanie A., wife of Lenny M. Lambert, of Lititz; grandchildren, Dillan M. Moyer, of Grantville, and Alyssa D. Moyer, of Seattle, WA; brother, Barry L., husband of Deb M. Miller, of Jonestown; and her sister-in-law, Cynthia D. Miller, of Jonestown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul David “Butch” Miller.
Susan will be cremated with her ashes returned to her family. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite animal charity in Susan’s name. She had a strong admiration for all animals.
